Annaliese Blecha
Coach Annaliese Blecha has been CrossFitting for five years. Her favorite thing about coaching is seeing the dynamic that develops between gym members. "CrossFit is technically an individual sport, but you would never know seeing the way these athletes encourage, motivate, and push each other," she says. "And don't forget the friendly rivalries!"
An avid distance runner, Annaliese was sidelined by a skiing injury that kept her from running for a year. While she was working to regain her strength and stamina, a friend introduced her to CrossFit. She fell in love. “While I can still be convinced to run the occasional race, I’d much rather spend the day competing in CrossFit!” she says.

Mark Burrows
Coach Mark Burrows has been CrossFitting for three years. His favorite thing about coaching is seeing the athletes work on things that they previously said they could not do. Mark was a gymnast in high school, a cheerleader in college, a volleyball player before marriage, a sailboat racer after marriage, a soccer coach as the kids grew up, and a Crossfitter when I saw Father Time coming to visit.
“My younger sailing friends were tough to keep up with and New Day was recommended, so I went in and I have never left. Some of the athletes think that I sleep at the box because I’m always here!” he said Mark’s favorite quote is, “Illigitimata non caborendum. (Don’t let the bastards grind you down). This quote is very symbolic of Mark at the box. As he has set goals and expectations of himself and his athletes and As Mark’s love for CrossFit grew he and coached Kevin talked about becoming a coach and new goal was set and he became the newest coach at the box. Mark said the one thing to know about him is, “He’s not a secret agent!”

Morgan Bratton
Coach Morgan first began her CrossFit journey far back in 2011 at a tiny box located in Thousand Oaks, California. Morgan could never turn down an activity that wasn't dynamic, community-driven, and maybe a bit weird; it was love at first wallball. In 2018, Morgan made the switch from athlete to coach, finally wedding her love for teaching to her love for CrossFit.
Over a decade later, Morgan has been a member of five different boxes across four states. With each new move, “people ask me if I have friends or know people in the area we head to. ‘Oh, yes! We just haven’t officially met yet.'” she likes to joke, “But it’s really the truth because I always find a new home box full of like-minded and supportive people.”
Morgan’s favorite part of being a CrossFit coach is watching people connect with themselves. As new members begin to learn a vast variety of moves, they start to move in ways they haven’t in a while or even ever. The emphasis on building technical consistency and intensity requires a level of determination that is equally physical and mental. Morgan focuses on helping athletes learn about their body and all the things it can do. Her classes highlight movement, emphasize mobility and precision, and draw attention to what our body is doing.
“Thankfully, I am a teacher and I know how to teach specified standards! When it comes to learning skills, all attempts, make or miss, all go to the same space: Experience.”
